Man Shot Dead in Catford – No Arrests Yet
A man was fatally shot in Catford in the early hours of March 10. Despite a police investigation, no arrests have been made so far.
Police Beg Witnesses to Step Forward
The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. on Catford Broadway, a busy spot in south London. Police believe there were several witnesses and are urging them to come forward.
“We are hopeful there will have been several witnesses who we would appeal to come forward,” police said.
Victim Identified, Family Being Informed
Emergency services found a man in his 30s with a gunshot wound when they arrived. Sadly, he was pronounced dead on the scene. Police are currently informing his family.
Community on Edge as Murder Probe Continues
Chief Superintendent Trevor Lawry, overseeing South East policing, expressed his sympathy for the victim’s loved ones. He stressed the importance of public help in the investigation.
“We urge anyone with information to come forward to assist us,” said Lawry.
Residents have been rattled by the incident, but officers are increasing patrols in the area to offer support and ease concerns.
Road Closures and Forensics Underway
The A21 Rushey Green was closed from early morning, with forensic teams working at the scene near the A205 South Circular and Catford Gyratory by Lewisham Town Hall.
