Kent Police launched a dramatic late-night raid after reports of a man armed and making threats on the Park Wood estate. Fifteen armed officers swooped in, locking down Chestnut Close and nearby roads while a police dog and the National Airport Support helicopter from Essex supported the operation.
Midnight Madness: Residents Wake to Heavy Police Presence
Residents spotted a swarming force of police cars and armed units around midnight on Sunday, April 25. One local told us: “All the commotion woke me up. There were loads of police shouting. I’m pretty sure guns were involved.” A police helicopter hovered overhead as officers moved in.
Man Arrested, High-Powered Rifle Seized
The suspect was handcuffed and taken to maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Police Station after officers found a high-powered rifle at the property. The weapon was not a police issue and was made safe on site. The police dog handler also searched for ammunition and other weapons during the raid.
