Firefighters Battle Blaze at Egmont Road Home
Emergency Call Sparks Fast Response
Emergency services rushed to Egmont Road on Saturday evening, 16 August, after a fire broke out at a residential property. East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) were alerted at 6.56pm and quickly dispatched crews to tackle the flames.
Blaze Brought Under Control with Full Force
Firefighters donned four sets of breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets to get the blaze under control. At the peak of the incident, six fire engines were on scene, supported by Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).
Residents Warned to Stay Indoors
Due to significant smoke in the area, residents were urged to keep windows and doors shut. The public was also advised to avoid the scene while crews worked tirelessly to damp down the fire.
Firefighters Scale Back as Incident Winds Down
By 7.36pm, the response was scaled down to a single appliance as firefighters continued securing the property. ESFRS confirmed they will release further updates once investigations into the fire’s cause are complete.
