Firefighter Hurt After Bottle Thrown at Fire Engine in East London

Late Thursday night turned dangerous for London’s bravest. At 1.45am on 12 January, a bottle was hurled at a London Fire Brigade (LFB) vehicle in Ridley Road, E8, injuring a firefighter on duty.

Firefighters Called to Automatic Alarm When Attack Struck

Fire crews had responded to an automatic fire alarm on the street when the attack took place. The bottle struck the vehicle, causing injury to a member of staff.

No Arrests Yet as Police Probe Incident

A Met Police spokesman said: “At 01:45hrs on Thursday, 12 January, police were contacted by the LFB after a bottle was thrown at an LFB vehicle in Ridley Road E8, injuring a member of staff.”

“There have been no arrests at this time. Enquiries are ongoing.”

London Fire Brigade has been approached for further comment.
