Leeds Police Hunt Flashers in Roundhay Park
Leeds District Police are cracking down on a string of indecent exposure incidents in Roundhay Park. They urge anyone who spots suspicious behaviour to call 999 immediately.
Undercover Cops and E-Bikes Patrol the Park
The Leeds District Safeguarding team and North East Leeds Neighbourhood Policing Team are investigating multiple reports of flashing aimed at women walking in the park.
Officers have gone undercover in plain clothes, while uniformed cops patrol the park on electric bikes to cover more ground fast.
Police are also liaising with locals and behavioural experts to get inside the offenders’ heads and crack the case.
No Injuries but Police Taking It Seriously
So far, no one has been physically harmed in these incidents. But the force insists the crime is no less serious.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lambert said:
“We understand residents’ concerns about the indecent exposure in Roundhay Park, and extensive enquiries are underway to nail those responsible.”
“There are high-visibility patrols and plain-clothes officers scattered throughout the area, plus drones monitoring the park.”
“No-one has been hurt, but we treat such offences with the utmost seriousness. Reducing offences against women is a top priority for West Yorkshire Police.”
