Tributes Flood In for Fallen Essex Cop Mathew Parker
The family of PC Mathew Parker are grieving the devastating loss of the beloved Essex Police officer. Mathew, a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle, died instantly last week after crashing on the busy A12 near Ingatestone while rushing to an emergency call.
Police confirmed no other vehicles were involved in the tragic smash. Mat had proudly served with Essex Police since 2010 and was a valued member of the Chigwell Roads Policing Team.
Motorbike Lover and Brave Officer Remembered
Mat’s family paid heartfelt tribute, revealing his passion for motorbikes and pride in his Harley Davidson. They said: “Mat lived a life defined by dedication and integrity. Beyond his service as a proud Essex Police officer, he was a man of strong values and a generous heart.”
They added: “He found joy and freedom on his motorcycle, a true reflection of his adventurous spirit and love of camaraderie. Mat will be remembered not only for his courage and commitment but for the warmth he shared with those closest to him.”
Community Mourns a True Hero
Mathew leaves behind his wife, daughters, parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. His family cherish his laughter, honesty, and unwavering character. “His spirit will live on in the memories and love he so freely gave,” they said.
Chief Superintendent Simon Anslow, head of Essex Police’s Operational Policing Command, expressed sorrow: “We remain absolutely devastated at the loss of our proud and dedicated colleague Mat, who made the ultimate sacrifice responding to a call for help.”
He added: “The public support and compassion from across Essex and the wider UK policing community has been deeply touching. Mat was brave and courageous. We stand united in grief with his family and continue to support them through this unimaginably difficult time.”
