Murder Probe Launched After Woman Fatally Shot at London Wake

Tragedy struck Brent, northwest London, on Saturday night as a deadly shooting outside a church wake sparked a full murder investigation.

Woman Dead, Two Men Injured After Gunfire Erupts at Wake

Police rushed to Gifford Road, NW10, at around 9:15pm on December 14 after emergency calls reported gunshots. Paramedics found a woman with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the victim is 46-year-old Michelle Sadio. Her family is being supported by specialist officers during this devastating time.

Two men in their 30s were also hurt. One is critically ill in hospital, the other has non-life-threatening injuries.

Chaos at Church Wake as Gunfire Sends 120 Fleeing

The shooting took place outside River of Life Elim Pentecostal Church, where around 120 people had gathered for a wake. Witnesses described pandemonium as shots rang out, forcing attendees to run for cover.

“There was chaos and pandemonium. The meeting came to an abrupt end. People knew those who were shot,” said Pastor Lawrence Larbie, who was at the scene.

Police Appeal for Witnesses as Investigation Continues

Superintendent Tony Josephs called the incident “shocking and devastating” and vowed a “team of experienced detectives” is working to find those responsible.

No arrests have been made so far. Roads near the scene remain closed as forensics comb the area.

The local community is reeling from the violence, with residents shocked and fearful.

“This is heartbreaking. It’s terrifying to think something like this could happen here,” said one neighbour.
