Teen Gang Arrested After Fatal Stabbing in Clacton
Police rushed to Rosemary Road just after midnight on Sunday, September 12, following reports of a man injured in a stabbing.
A 21-year-old man was found with a stab wound. Paramedics tried to save him at the scene, but tragically he died later in hospital.
Murder Probe Launched – Six Held in Custody
Detectives launched a murder investigation immediately. Within hours, they arrested five teenage boys from Clacton—aged 19, 18, and three 15-year-olds—on suspicion of murder. A 20-year-old Clacton woman was also detained for assisting an offender. All six remain in custody.
Road Closures and Community Reassurance
Several roads in Clacton town centre are still closed as officers continue their investigation. Affected streets include Rosemary Road, Rosemary Crescent, Station Road, Orwell Road, and parts of High Street. Authorities thank residents and drivers for their patience.
Detective Inspector Greg Wood, Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “Our officers acted fast, making arrests within hours. We don’t believe there’s any ongoing risk to the public.”
“This is a tragic loss of a young man’s life. That’s why key roads remain closed while uniformed officers, detectives, and forensic teams carry out detailed enquiries.”
“If anyone saw anything or has CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage, please come forward.”
