Man Breaks Into Home in Dead of Night, Threatens Sleeping Woman
Police are hunting for a man who forced his way into a house on Ordnance Street at around 3.30 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022. Inside, he woke a sleeping woman and threatened her — but she managed to escape and get help.
Tool and Forced Entry Found at Scene
When officers arrived, they found a downstairs rear window forced open. Inside the bedroom, a screwdriver believed to belong to the intruder was left behind, suggesting a break-in attempt.
Linked To Earlier Break-In Attempts on Same Street
- At 3.10 a.m., a loud noise was reported from a bathroom window found open nearby.
- At 1.30 a.m., a local heard footsteps on a roof extension. When confronted, the suspect threatened the witness before jumping over a garden fence and fleeing.
Suspect Description and Police Appeal
The suspect is described as white, with dark hair. He was wearing grey jogging bottoms and a dark puffer jacket.
