Four Arrested in Major Telecom Metal Theft Bust in Kent

Kent Police have cracked down on a metal theft ring, arresting four suspects and seizing a haul of cables and batteries linked to crimes across the South East.

Rural Task Force Targets Telecom Thieves

Officers from Kent Police’s Rural Task Force spotted a suspicious vehicle near Gillingham on Monday, 7 October 2024. It was connected to multiple thefts of batteries from telecoms boxes around the region.

Huge Haul Seized: Batteries, Cables, and More

The raid uncovered over 100 stolen batteries, cables, the vehicle and trailer used in the thefts, plus a vehicle engine and power tools. Police are still investigating the origins of all the recovered items.

Suspects Bailed Pending Enquiries

  • Three men aged 37 to 57
  • One 14-year-old boy

All have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal and released on bail as inquiries continue.
