Teen thugs launch vicious attacks on elderly passengers on South London trains
Two assaults, one group of girls
British Transport Police have hit out after three teenage girls reportedly attacked two elderly passengers on separate Southeastern trains in South London on Tuesday night, 18 March. The first assault took place around 9.30pm on a train from London Bridge to Woolwich Arsenal, where an elderly man was targeted seemingly without reason. Police described the attack as “vicious and cowardly.”
Just over an hour later, the same trio are believed to have struck again on another train from London Bridge.
Public urged to help ID suspects
Officers have released CCTV images of the suspects in a desperate bid to track down the teens. A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “These were appalling attacks on vulnerable individuals simply going about their journeys. We will not tolerate this kind of behaviour on our network and urge anyone who recognises the girls to come forward.”
Details on the victims’ injuries remain under wraps but both incidents left passengers terrified and the community fuming.
Outrage online and calls for tougher patrols
Social media users slammed the attacks with one X user blasting: “Absolutely disgraceful behaviour—hope these girls are found and brought to justice.” Others demanded more police presence on late-night trains to keep passengers safe.
