George Clarke Robbed at Knifepoint Near Oxford Circus
Channel 4’s Amazing Spaces star George Clarke has revealed he was robbed at knifepoint on Monday evening close to Oxford Circus, losing his watch in a terrifying ordeal.
Architect’s Close Call
The 50-year-old architect and popular TV presenter, famous for shows like The Restoration Man, shared the harrowing incident on Instagram. Clarke admitted he feared for his life and was left “angry” that the attacker got away.
In an emotional post to his 240,000 followers, Clarke said he wanted to fight back but held back, worried he might get accused of assault. He wrote in a message directed at the thief:
“To the little **** who stole my watch tonight… I pity you.”
He added:
“It’s only a watch at the end of the day. Although I loved it and grafted for it. But I could have been stabbed so let it go… I’m ok. I’m just angry with myself. I wanted to hit him but I’d be the one done for assault!”
Fans Rally in Support
Followers rushed to offer support and sympathy. One fan reassured Clarke:
“You have every right to be angry… but not at yourself, oh no no.”
Another added:
“Totally understand being angry, but you’re safe and that’s the most important thing for you and your family.”
In a follow-up post, Clarke thanked fans for their kindness:
“Thank you for all of your kind words. I really appreciate it. At the end of the day it’s only a watch… I loved it but thankfully it had no sentimental value.”
