Innocent Man Brutally Beaten in Case of Mistaken Identity at Glasgow Station

A 53-year-old man from Possilpark, Glasgow, was savagely attacked after being mistaken for a local thief. Daniel Dolan suffered devastating injuries in a shocking assault at Possilpark Station on the afternoon of Friday, February 21, 2025.

Vicious Attack Leaves Man With Serious Injuries

The attack happened around 3:20 pm when Dolan was wrongly identified as the so-called “G22 Grinch,” a suspect linked to recent break-ins in the area. The unprovoked assault left Dolan with fractured facial bones, a dislocated shoulder, and deep cuts on his cheek and ear. Witnesses say he was knocked unconscious multiple times.

Daniel is a well-known local figure who regularly helps his neighbours and walks his dog. His niece, Sheryl, blasted the attack on social media, insisting, “My uncle Daniel and the ‘G22 Grinch’ look nothing alike! Everyone here knows Daniel – he’s always out shopping or helping neighbours. This was a terrible mistake.”

Family Pleads for Justice and Calls Out Attacker

Sheryl revealed that Daniel battles chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and is now too scared to leave his home alone or use public transport. “You better hand yourself in because this isn’t going away, and you will be caught soon. Do the right thing,” she warned the attacker.

She urged the community to help with the investigation. “Anyone who knows this person and what he’s done, please give us a name or call Police Scotland anonymously. Knowing and doing nothing is no better.”

Police Launch Investigation as Community Rallies

Police Scotland condemned the attack as “vicious and unprovoked” and are hunting the suspects involved. They urge anyone with information to come forward or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Neighbours voiced their shock and support for Daniel. “Daniel’s a good man—he’s always helping out,” said one anonymous local. “Whoever did this needs to face justice.”

This brutal case highlights dangers of vigilantism and mistaken identity amid rising crime tensions in Possilpark. The real culprit remains free while an innocent man pays a heavy price.
