Gunshots Heard in SE18 Prompt Police Lockdown
At 7.30pm on Wednesday, December 27, the Met Police were rushed to Mulgrave Road, SE18, after reports of gunshots echoed through the area.
No Injuries but Investigation Launched
Officers swooped in immediately and scoured the scene. Luckily, no one was hurt and no suspects were caught on the initial sweep. Yet, the serious nature of the incident means the Met isn’t holding back. A full investigation is underway, with a crime scene cordoned off as detectives chase down leads.
Police Boost Powers to Catch Culprits
To keep residents safe and stop any repeat violence, authorities have activated Section 60 AA stop-and-search powers. This lets cops demand anyone remove face coverings and search anyone in the area until 7am on Thursday, December 28.
Public Urged to Speak Up
The Met is calling on anyone with info to come forward. Witnesses can dial 101 quoting reference CAD 5134/27Dec. Residents should stay alert, cooperate with police, and keep the community safe.
Safety first—the Metropolitan Police are determined to crack this case and bring calm back to SE18.
