Horror Crash Outside London Steakhouse Sends Three to Hospital
Chaos erupted on Coventry Street near Piccadilly Circus last night when a black Toyota careened onto the pavement and smashed into pedestrians outside the busy Angus Steakhouse. The shocking crash happened at around 6:50 p.m., leaving stunned bystanders and emergency crews scrambling to help.
Car Ploughs Through Pedestrians and Bikes
Witnesses described the terrifying scene as the car tore through a row of Lime rental bikes before smashing into a street map sign and finally crashing into a building. The vehicle’s bonnet was crushed and airbags deployed, with the front number plate dangling from the wreckage. Bystanders quickly gathered, filming the dramatic aftermath as the car ended up partially embedded on the pavement close to one of London’s busiest tourist spots.
“There was a big crowd that gathered around the car. Everyone was so shocked. Two women were inside, and they had to be cut out,” said an eyewitness. “They were both unconscious. Firefighters had to cut the door off. There were loads of ambulances and police vehicles.”
Three Hurt, Including Two Unconscious Women
Firefighters had to cut a door off to rescue two unconscious women trapped inside the vehicle. Reports said a pedestrian was “flipped into the air” by the impact and lay on the pavement “covered in blood.” Both the injured pedestrian and a passenger were taken to hospital. The car’s driver, who suffered minor injuries, was also hospitalised as a precaution.
Police Investigate; Road Closures in Place
Photos show the battered car missing a door and glass strewn across the pavement. Police confirmed they are investigating the incident to determine what caused the crash. Road closures remain at the scene near some of London’s top tourist attractions.
A police statement confirmed the crash is not being treated as terror-related. The investigation is ongoing.
