Humberside Police are cracking down on knife crime with their part in the national Sceptre knife surrender campaign. The campaign, running until Sunday, 23 November 2025, urges locals to hand in knives and weapons to help clean up the streets.

No Questions Asked – Just Drop Your Knives Off

Chief Inspector Tim Harrison made it clear: “There are no questions asked. Simply take your knife or weapon to any listed police station and drop it in the knife bin. No forms, no records, just safer streets.”

Police Warn: Carrying a Knife Puts You in Danger

Sergeant Matthew Julian revealed that police will boost patrols and weapon sweeps near schools to educate young people about the risks.

“Our message to those carrying knives – or thinking about it – is clear: It does not protect you. It makes you more vulnerable and puts you in greater danger of serious harm.”
