Endangered Tortoises Stolen in Brazen Theft!

Five rare tortoises have been nicked from an outbuilding in Colt Stead between Friday 20 and Saturday 21 November 2020. Police say these endangered reptiles include two radiated tortoises, a spider tortoise, and two Egyptian tortoises – one of which is pregnant and expected to lay eggs soon.

Police Hunting Tortoise Thieves

Officers investigating have released images of the stolen animals, hoping someone will spot them. This wildlife heist is a serious blow to conservation efforts.

Residents Urged to Check Cameras

Anyone with doorbell cams, CCTV, or dashcams in the area is urged to review their footage from the date of the theft. Police are keen to catch any suspicious activity recorded in Colt Stead.
