Police have launched an investigation into the treatment of the deceased at three funeral service sites across Hull and East Riding. The probe follows a troubling report received on the evening of 6 March relating to Legacy Independent Funeral Directors.

Officers have sealed off the affected premises and are on site as inquiries kick off. Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Gawthorpe warned the case is still in early stages but admitted the news may distress families who used the services.

Officials are working closely with HM Coroner, Hull City Council, and East Riding Council to get to the bottom of the matter. Efforts are underway to contact those impacted by the investigation.
