Man Shot in Leg in Suspected Targeted Attack

Police are probing a chilling shooting on Malton Street, Burngreave. Just after 10pm on Sunday, July 2, a 42-year-old man was shot in the leg after getting out of his car. The victim suffered serious, potentially life-changing injuries and was rushed to hospital.

Detective Inspector Chris Ronayne, leading the investigation, revealed that officers are scouring the area for clues. He urged anyone who noticed anything odd between 9pm and 11pm on Malton Street to speak up immediately.

Orange Mini Cooper and Mysterious Fire Key to Case

Cops are particularly interested in an orange Mini Cooper seen nearby during the attack. The same car was later found ablaze in a wooded spot off Grimesthorpe Road at 10.59pm. Police believe this arson is linked to the shooting and could be a crucial lead.
