Man Arrested After Epping Chaos at Bell Hotel
Police are investigating after a night of havoc in 123.
He stressed, “While flares, firecrackers, and smoke bombs were indeed thrown by individuals claiming to protest, this behaviour is criminal and not lawful protest. Assaulting residents is definitely not peaceful.”
Dispersal Order Enforced to Restore Calm
A dispersal order was put in place Friday night, giving police power to remove anyone suspected of anti-social behaviour from the Epping area.
One person received a Section 42 Notice under the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001, aimed at preventing harassment and distress in the community.
“We will use every option to ensure those living and working in Epping can live without disruption,” added Chief Superintendent Anslow.
Authorities continue to investigate as they try to crack down on further disorder.
