A 29-year-old Isle of Wight man, Lee Thurman, was arrested in Shanklin after turning up to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex. The meeting followed a series of disturbing online text messages, revealed in a dramatic sting by local group Wight Rangers.
Thurman Tried to Flee and Destroy Evidence
Police swooped on Regent Street, Shanklin, where Thurman arrived. Eyewitnesses say members of Wight Rangers had to physically restrain him as he kicked out and tried to smash evidence on the spot.
Investigation Ongoing
