Two Men Flee Scene Leaving Victims for Dead

An Isle of Wight woman has suffered a life-threatening brain injury and remains in critical condition at Southampton General Hospital tonight after a shocking smash on Briddlesford Road near Wootton. The crash happened on Thursday evening when a silver BMW 330 collided with a Vauxhall Astra.

Two men inside the BMW fled the scene on foot, leaving the woman and another passenger seriously injured and fighting for their lives.

Family Pleads for the Fugitives to Surrender

The victim’s family has issued a desperate appeal for the two men to come forward. They warn the men: “You left her for dead. She is now fighting for her life.”

Police say they urgently need to speak to the pair to understand what happened and check if they themselves are hurt.

Massive Police Hunt Underway

  • Crash took place near Blacklands Lane at 5.45pm on 27th June
  • Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance airlifted the injured woman to Southampton
  • Briddlesford Road was closed for hours while collision investigators examined the scene
  • National Police Air Service helicopter and a search dog scoured the area for the two suspects

Police Urge Anyone with Information to Speak Up

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the two men remain at large. A spokesperson said: “We would like to speak with these two men as soon as possible as we are concerned they could be injured, and would like them to assist our enquiries into this collision.”
