Kent Police Crack Down on Predators in Festive Night Out Blitz

Kent Police have launched a fierce crackdown to keep women and girls safe during the busy festive season. Their message is clear: no place for predators on town centre nights out.

Project Vigilant Hunts Down Threats in Kent Towns

From 12-14 December 2025, officers in uniform and plain clothes hit Canterbury, Medway, and Maidstone streets hard. They prowled pubs, clubs, and high streets, seeking out suspicious characters and stopping trouble before it started. Focus: protecting vulnerable women from predators lurking in nightlife hotspots.

Police confirmed patrols will ramp up across Kent all through Christmas, targeting areas known for risky behaviour.

Fast Police Action Snuffs Out Crime

  • In Canterbury, cops pinned down a belligerent man hassling women for cash, handing him a Community Resolution.
  • Two suspects were arrested in a serious assault investigation.
  • Maidstone officers booted a shady man loitering on Gabs Hill.
  • Three known sex offenders were spotted and engaged; intelligence was collected though no fresh offences identified.
  • In notorious Rochester, a 19-year-old was nabbed after allegedly trying to lure women into an alley, flashing a knife. Police found him carrying the blade, stolen ID, and bank cards. He now faces charges of theft, aggravated burglary, and weapon possession.

New Drug Dogs Sniff Out Spiking Threats

Kent Police have unleashed two new drug-sniffing dogs – PD Sully and PD Max. These expert pooches are trained to detect spiking substances, blocking drug-fuelled sexual offences before they happen.

Superintendent Nick Sparkes said: “In the busy period leading up to Christmas, we’re stepping up our presence and boosting patrols in high-footfall areas. Catching suspicious behaviour early means everyone can enjoy their night out safely.”

“This operation is part of our ongoing fight to protect women and girls. We’ll keep taking strong action against those who want to cause harm or exploit vulnerable people.”
