Teen Thugs Launch Brutal Bottle Attack in Herne Bay

Detectives are hunting for info after a shocking attempted robbery and assault near Herne Bay railway station.

Victim Targeted at Bus Stop

Kent Police were called at 8pm on Wednesday, 7 October 2020, following reports a man at a bus stop outside Herne Bay station was targeted by teens. A boy lunged to snatch his vaporiser before smashing him over the head with a bottle.

Another Boy Attacked in Nearby Park

Shortly after, officers spoke to a second boy who said he’d been approached by a group of 15 to 16-year-olds near the tennis pavilion in Memorial Park. He too was struck with a bottle. Both victims were rushed to hospital for treatment and the cases are linked.

Two Teens Arrested and Bailed

Police arrested two 15-year-old boys on suspicion of assault. They’ve been bailed pending further inquiries until Wednesday, 28 October.
