Taxi Stop Finds Knife and Suspected Crack Cocaine in Radford
Police on patrol made a dramatic find after stopping a taxi in Radford at around 1.30pm on Friday, 16 December. The city’s knife crime team spotted the cab parked in Crewe Close before following it to Forest Road East and pulling it over.
Bladed Weapon and Class A Drugs Discovered
A search of the vehicle revealed a knife and suspected Class A drugs inside. A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article and Class A drugs.
PC Ken Tinley, Nottinghamshire Police’s knife crime team, said: “Proactive stop and searches like this are vital to our work. We target knife carriers and disrupt drug activity to keep our streets safer.”
“We don’t want any knives or drugs on our streets. That’s why we regularly patrol and root out offenders in the community.”
