Man, 28, Arrested After Pointing Gun at Cops in Barking Car Chase
High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash
A dramatic police pursuit in Barking came to a crashing halt on February 8 at around 8:20 AM. Officers tried to stop a vehicle, but the driver refused to comply, sparking a high-speed chase through the streets. The chase ended when the fleeing car smashed near a school on Hulse Avenue.
Suspect Points Gun at Police Before Running Off
After the crash, the male occupant allegedly jumped out and faced down officers. Police say he “pointed a handgun at them before running off.” Fortunately, no shots were fired during the tense standoff, but the suspect managed to escape on foot.
Arrest Made Following Intense Investigation
Following days of intensive police work, the 28-year-old suspect was arrested on February 13. He now faces charges of possession of a firearm with intent to resist arrest as investigations continue.
