Man Arrested After Brutal Hove Brawl Leaves Two Seriously Injured
A violent fight in Hove has landed one man in custody and two others in hospital with severe injuries. Police swooped on Downland Drive, West Blatchington, shortly after 2.20pm on Thursday, 8 May, following reports of a savage altercation between two men.
Shocking Scene in West Blatchington
Witnesses took to social media saying one of the men appeared to have been stabbed during the confrontation. Emergency services rushed to the scene, treating the injured before taking them to hospital.
Suspect in Hospital After GBH Arrest
Sussex Police confirmed a 30-year-old Hove man was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH). The suspect is also receiving medical treatment in hospital for his own injuries.
A second man, thought to be in his late 30s and also from Hove, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“Officers have made an arrest after responding to reports of an altercation in Downland Drive, Hove. A 30-year-old man has been arrested for GBH and is currently being treated in hospital,” a Sussex Police spokesperson said.
“A second man has also been taken to hospital. Inquiries are ongoing.”
