Man Arrested Over Disappearance of Mum of Three Khasha Smith
A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the mysterious disappearance and suspected death of Khasha Smith, a 35-year-old mother from Calder, Edinburgh. Khasha vanished nearly a year ago and has not been seen since.
Last Seen on FaceTime Before Vanishing
Khasha was last spotted during a FaceTime call with a friend on 10 October 2023. Her family reported her missing on 5 January 2024, sparking a full police investigation.
Police Launch Search Near Calder Road
Specialist officers carried out a search off Calder Road on Wednesday after thorough inquiries. Although her body remains undiscovered, police now believe Khasha is dead.
Detective Pleads for Information
Detective Chief Inspector Bob Williamson of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team said: “Our thoughts are very much with Khasha’s family at this extremely difficult time, and they continue to be supported by specialist officers. They are understandably devastated, and it is vital we get answers for them.”
He added: “Any piece of information, no matter how small or insignificant, could prove vital, so please get in touch.”
