Crossbow man caught after terrorising Shoreditch
A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two terrifying crossbow attacks rocked London’s Shoreditch, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
Crossbow attacks spark major police manhunt
The arrest came during an intelligence-led police swoop around 11 pm on Sunday, following two separate incidents earlier this month where innocent victims were shot in the head and neck with a crossbow in the same East London neighbourhood.
Weapons seized in dramatic raid
Officers searched a nearby address and uncovered a crossbow, knives, and other weapons believed to be linked to the attacks. The suspect remains in custody as detectives dig deeper.
Community shaken but police vow action
“We understand the community’s concern following these incidents,” said Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway. “Our officers acted swiftly and decisively, using CCTV footage, forensic analysis, and intelligence to track down the suspect. Neighbourhood teams are out reassuring the public as investigations continue.”
The operation had full backing from local authorities, particularly Tower Hamlets Council, as police work tirelessly to restore safety.
Investigation ongoing – public urged to help
DS Conway stressed the probe remains complex and ongoing, urging anyone with information to contact police on 101 quoting Operation Goldwater. Anonymous tips can be given via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
Londoners are urged to stay vigilant as officers hunt for answers in this alarming crossbow spree.
