21-Year-Old Arrested After String of Suspicious North London Arson Attacks Linked to Keir Starmer
Man Held Over Fires Near PM’s Home
A 21-year-old from Sydenham was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, May 13, suspected of setting multiple fires in North London. The blazes have been linked to properties connected with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The man remains in custody as counter-terrorism officers take over the probe.
Series of Fires Under Investigation
- Sunday, May 11: Fire reported at a property entrance in N7.
- Monday, May 12 (1:35am): Blaze at a Kentish Town (NW5) home damaged the entrance. No injuries.
- Thursday, May 8: Vehicle fire in NW5 now linked to the investigation.
All fires are treated as suspicious, with police working to establish any connections.
Counter-Terrorism Unit Steps In
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
“A man has been arrested in connection with a series of arson attacks. The 21-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. Because one of the properties is linked to a high-profile public figure, the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command is leading the investigation. All three fires remain suspicious.”
No Injuries But Serious Concerns
Thankfully, no one has been hurt so far. However, the possible targeting of locations tied to the Prime Minister has raised serious alarm. The Met Police continue probing the exact cause of each fire and whether the same suspect is behind all incidents.
