Man Brutally Attacked Outside Epsom Nightclub in Early Hours
Police hunt witnesses after a vicious assault in Epsom at around 3.20am on Sunday, 9 June. A man in his 20s was left battered and broken after stepping in during a row outside the Fever and Boutique Nightclub.
Inflatable Microphone Leads to Violent Brawl
The victim and his friend were walking along High Street, carrying a large inflatable microphone – a quirky detail that could help identify suspects. They had just left the nightclub when a group of young men came into sight.
- One of the gang threw water at the victim’s friend, sparking an argument.
- The victim tried to intervene but was shoved to the ground and then stamped and kicked.
- Thankfully, three passersby stepped in to stop the brutal attack.
Suspects Flee After Attack – Police Describe Them Wearing Black Nike Hoodies
The attackers fled on foot towards Station Approach. Witnesses described them as six or seven white males and one black male, all aged 16 to 20, dressed in black Nike hooded tops.
Victim Suffers Broken Arm but Survivable Injuries
The victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, including a broken arm. Thankfully, doctors say his injuries are not life-threatening, and he has since been discharged. His friend also suffered minor injuries and was released from hospital.
Detective Sergeant Kerry Akehurst said: “This was a violent assault where the victim was attacked by a group of men in a public place. We believe many people were nearby and may have seen what happened.”
“The inflatable microphone carried by the victim and his friend is a key detail we hope will jog memories of those around.”
