Man Dies After Falling Near Lewisham Station

Tragedy Strikes at Lewisham Station

A man has died after falling from a height close to Lewisham Station in south-east London early this Sunday morning. Emergency crews were scrambled to the scene just after 8.15am on June 15, but despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency Response at Station Road

The grim incident took place at Station Road, near its junction with Lewisham High Street. Both the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service responded swiftly to the call.

“Police were called at 8.13am on Sunday, 15 June to reports of a male injured after falling from a height in Station Road, SE13,” confirmed a police spokesperson.

Paramedics Rush In But Man Pronounced Dead

According to the London Ambulance Service (LAS), paramedics reached the scene in under five minutes after reports of a fall near Lewisham DLR Station. Sadly, the man was declared dead at 8.17am.

“We were called at 8.09am today (15 June) to reports of a person who had fallen from height at Lewisham DLR Station, in Junction Approach. Sadly the patient died at the scene,” stated LAS.

Station Road Closed As Investigation Continues

Station Road remains closed with a police cordon in place while officers investigate the circumstances surrounding the death. The case is being treated as unexpected, and the man’s identity has not yet been released.

Detectives are working urgently to notify the man’s next of kin. The cause of the fall is still under investigation and authorities have not confirmed if foul play is suspected.
