Man Dies in Early Morning Collision on A127
A man in his 30s tragically died after a crash between a Vauxhall Astra and a lorry on the A127 in the early hours of Thursday, 4 June. The smash happened just after 2am on South Arterial Road, near the A128 roundabout, Brentwood Road.
Paramedics’ Efforts in Vain
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the site. The road was closed for hours during the investigation but has now reopened.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
No arrests have been made. Essex Police are continuing their enquiries and urge anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. Witnesses can email the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at [email protected] or call 101 quoting incident 69 of 4 June.

Brooke George, 23, is facing the death penalty by firing squad if convicted of murdering fellow Brit Bill Treeby, 26, after meeting him online. The former John Lewis shop assistant, who has about 100,000 followers on TikTok, is reported to have travelled to the UAE after meeting Treeby on Facebook, where he is said to have organised a photoshoot. The Mirror can reveal that he was convicted of unlawful wounding and common assault at Maidstone Crown Court in December 2023, in relation to an attack on a woman and a man. Treeby was sentenced to 14 months in prison, suspended for two years, a court official confirmed. She described the experience as “deeply humiliating and distressing”, breaking down in tears when recounting it to her family.
