Man in 30s Fighting for Life After Lorry Crash in East Ham

A man in his 30s is in critical condition following a horrific collision with a lorry at a busy East Ham junction last week.

Serious Crash Shuts Down Barking Road

The smash happened just after 9am on Wednesday, March 12, at the junction of Barking Road and High Street South. Emergency teams rushed to the scene after reports of a pedestrian hit by a heavy goods vehicle.

The Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance all responded. Paramedics treated the man roadside before racing him to a major trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital, fighting for his life.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

“Police were called to Barking Road, E6 at around 09:10hrs on Wednesday, 12 March following reports of a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian,” a Met spokesperson said. “One man in his 30s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Road closures on Barking Road to Leyton Way and High Street South caused chaos but have now been lifted.

“Our first paramedics arrived within two minutes and treated a man before taking him to a major trauma centre,” a London Ambulance Service spokesperson added.
