Dog Walk Turned Ugly: Man Attacked in Eastbourne Park

Eastbourne police are hunting a thug who punched a man in his 60s during a dog walk at Old Town Recreation Ground.

Morning Walk Ends in Violence

At around 8:45am on Saturday, 1 April, the victim was enjoying a stroll with his dog on Longland Road when an altercation broke out. The attacker landed a blow to the victim’s face, leaving a nasty cut near his eye.

Suspect on the Loose

The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, cops are on the lookout for the suspect, described as:

  • White male, about 5’8″
  • Dark hair
  • Tattoo on one arm
  • Walking a large dog – thought to be a Doberman-Great Dane mix

Police Issue Urgent Appeal

“If you saw what happened or recognise this man, please get in touch,” urged police. “Call 101 or report online, quoting reference 47230059674.”
