Hero Boater Pulls Man from Mile End Canal After Dramatic Jump
A quick-thinking boater rescued a man who jumped from Mile End Bridge into the Regent’s Canal before police arrived.
Police Detain Man Under Mental Health Act
Officers were called following reports of a man struggling with mental health issues. But by the time they got there, the man had already leapt from the bridge on Mile End Road (A11).
The man was swiftly detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to hospital, then transferred to a mental health facility for care.
