Six fire engines and 40 firefighters stormed to a property on Winchester Road, Chingford, this evening. The urgent call came moments after England’s thrilling World Cup victory over Wales secured their place in the next round.

Smoke Sparks Panic

Local residents spotted thick smoke billowing from the house. Worryingly, the occupants were unaccounted for, sparking an immediate emergency response.

Road Closures and Search Underway

Police have sealed off Winchester Road and several nearby streets to help crews tackle the blaze. Firefighters, dressed in breathing apparatus, are combing through the property using hose reel jets to control flames and search for anyone inside.
