Violence shattered the calm on Knocknarea Road in Dublin early yesterday as 20-year-old Josh Itseli was gunned down in what police believe was a brutal gangland hit. Gardaí are on high alert, investigating links to ongoing criminal feuds tearing through the city.

- Arrests: Two men and a teen caught near the scene. One man, in his twenties with a violent past, was out on bail after recent serious charges.

- Weapons: A military-grade AR-15 rifle, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered. A pipe bomb was also defused by the Army.
