Shock as Chemical Spray Assault Hits Busy London Station
A rail worker was left writhing in pain and temporarily blind after a brutal chemical attack at Blackfriars station in London. The terrifying incident unfolded on May 17 when four men jumped off a Sevenoaks train and stormed through the station barriers.
Staff tried to stop one of the men, who hurled abuse back. The other three fled – only to come charging back moments later. Then, one of the suspects pulled out a Lucozade Sport bottle filled with a clear chemical and sprayed it straight into the worker’s face.
Victim Left in Agony with Severe Burns
- The victim suffered intense pain and temporary blindness immediately after the attack.
- He was rushed to hospital and treated for chemical burns to his face and eyes.
- Surgery is now needed to fix the long-term damage caused by the assault.
Police Release CCTV as Manhunt Gets Underway
The gang fled Blackfriars station after the attack, but police have now released clear CCTV images of a suspect they urgently want to identify. British Transport Police Detective Constable Victoria Callaghan said:
“This was a horrific attack that has left the victim requiring eye surgery for his long-term injuries. An investigation was launched immediately, and we now have clearer CCTV footage. If you recognise this man, please contact us.”
