Thieves Target Rescue Team Vehicle Hours After Dramatic Well Rescue!

USAR Vehicle Burgled in Southampton

In the early hours of October 10, a vehicle belonging to the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team was broken into in Southampton. The theft happened shortly after the team’s heroic rescue of a seven-year-old trapped in a capped well in Hampshire.

Valuable Rescue Gear Stolen

The mindless crooks made off with crucial USAR equipment, including personal protective equipment (P.P.E.) and technical rope harnesses. They also swiped an F3 USAR red helmet, clearly badged and named, complete with an attached Alpkit Gamma torch.

Uniforms Taken in Raid

Among the stolen items were a tunic and leggings emblazoned with ‘Urban Search and Rescue’ on the back and Hampshire patches on the arms — vital kit for the brave rescue workers.

Police urge anyone with information about the theft to come forward and help return the stolen gear to the team who risk their lives saving others.
