Murder Probe Underway After 88-Year-Old Found Dead in Bournemouth Home
Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of an 88-year-old man was discovered at a property in Bournemouth.
Tragic Discovery in Winton
Dorset Police were called at 12:57pm on Saturday 9 August 2025 following welfare concerns raised by the ambulance service at an Edgehill Road address in Winton.
Officers found the elderly man, a local resident, dead inside the property. A police cordon remains as detectives dig into the case.
Woman Arrested, Investigation Ongoing
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. A 60-year-old woman from Bournemouth, believed to be known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.
“We are carrying out a full investigation into the circumstances of this incident. Anyone with information that could assist our enquiries is urged to get in touch,” said a Dorset Police spokesperson.
