Police have launched a murder probe after two bodies were found in the Highlands in a chilling double tragedy.

Bodies Discovered Hours Apart in Keiss

  • A 74-year-old man was found dead inside a home on Robertson Crescent, Keiss, just after midnight on Sunday.
  • Later that evening, around 8pm, the body of a 39-year-old woman was discovered on the grounds of nearby Keiss Castle.

Police Confirm Linked Murders but No Public Danger

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Geddes said: “Following concerns raised shortly after midnight on Sunday, the body of a 74-year-old man was found in a Keiss property. His death is being treated as murder. The body of a 39-year-old woman was found at Keiss Castle around 8pm during a police search.”

He added that while the investigation is ongoing, the cases are connected. Police have reassured locals there is no threat to the wider community and confirmed a visible police presence will remain in the area.
