Murder Probe Underway After Teen Found Beaten to Death Near DLR Station

A brutal murder investigation is now underway after a 16-year-old boy was found beaten to death in Newham. The teenager, believed to be Ahmed Shamur from Manor Park, was discovered unresponsive with fatal head injuries on scrubland behind Gallions Reach DLR Station, Atlantis Avenue, early on Tuesday morning, March 3.

Teenager Reported Missing Before Death

London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene at 8:38am following reports of an unconscious male. Despite attempts to save him, Ahmed was pronounced dead at the scene. His family had reported him missing in the early hours after he failed to return home. They have been informed and are receiving specialist support.

Possible Link to Gang With Baseball Bats

Police are investigating whether the murder is connected to a group of around 30 males spotted carrying baseball bats near Gallions Reach DLR station the evening before. A witness called police at 7:50pm on Monday, March 2, but officers found no trace of the group after searching the area.
