Murder Probe Launched After Woman Found Dead in Brean Holiday Park

A murder investigation is underway after a woman was tragically found dead at a Brean holiday park on Wednesday, October 25. Avon & Somerset Police were called to the scene off Weston Road around 4.50pm, where they discovered the woman with serious injuries. Despite emergency efforts, she was pronounced dead at about 5.20pm.

Man Arrested, Family Supported

A 70-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. The woman’s identity is yet to be formally confirmed, but her next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from a specially trained family liaison officer during this devastating time.

Police Reassure Public, Call for Witnesses

“Residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area over the next few days, but I would like to reassure them that, at this stage, we believe there is no wider risk to the public and this is an isolated incident,” said Detective Inspector Neil Meade of the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT).

DI Meade also urged anyone with information to come forward. “If you saw anything or know something that could help, please contact our local Neighbourhood Policing Team or call 101 referencing crime number 5223261220.
