Determined to halt the bloodshed, Murray revealed a multi-pronged crackdown effort underway across the capital. “Every officer is fired up to catch the killers, bring justice, and get weapons off our streets,” he said.

Hard Calls Save Lives Campaign Makes Strides
Murray also praised the award-winning “Hard Calls Save Lives” campaign, created with Crimestoppers and bereaved mothers, urging the public to come forward with info on knife crime or violence. “Our combined efforts have cut knife crime by 32% and reduced victims under 25 by 29% compared to pre-pandemic times,” he stated.

“Tackling violence remains our top priority,” Murray stressed. “But we need the public and partner agencies on board to find lasting solutions.”
