New Arrests Shake Up 14-Year-Old Andrew Godsen Disappearance Case
Police have swooped in with arrest raids over the long-running mystery of missing schoolboy Andrew Godsen. Two men, aged 38 and 45, were detained on suspicion of kidnap and human trafficking. Officers seized electronics during the bust, but warned it could take “six to 12 months” to comb through the devices.
First Break in 17-Year-Old Cold Case
Andrew, from Doncaster, vanished on 14 September 2007 at just 14 years old. His family’s nightmare intensified with the arrests, the first in nearly two decades. The men were arrested on 8 December, thanks to help from the Metropolitan Police. Authorities confirmed the elder suspect also faces charges over possession of indecent images of children.
Family On Edge Amid Emotional Rollercoaster
“We understand that police investigation will take several months to complete, so until that is the case, we do not know what to think and do not wish to speculate on any possible outcome,” the Godsen family said.
Father Kevin added: “We have carried the burden of not knowing for many years and recent potential developments represent a more intensified period of this emotional journey for us.”
Andrew’s Last Movements Still Shrouded in Mystery
On the day Andrew disappeared, he skipped school, withdrew nearly £200, and bought a one-way ticket to London. CCTV caught him arriving at King’s Cross Station, but his trail runs cold after that. Police have yet to uncover why Andrew made the journey or where he went next.
