Violent Football Brawl Erupts in Southampton After Saints vs Spurs Clash
Chaos broke out at around 6.05pm on Saturday, March 18, when police rushed to reports of a violent disorder between Southampton and Tottenham fans on Terminus Terrace, near the junction with Oxford Street.
Tables, Chairs, and Glasses Thrown as Man Assaulted
The fracas involved several people throwing tables, chairs, and glasses. A 61-year-old local man from Bursledon was assaulted, suffering facial injuries that required hospital treatment.
Detective Inspector Tim Judd said: “This would have been a frightening experience for those who witnessed this incident. Plenty of people were out enjoying their Saturday night when they were suddenly caught in the middle of this disorder. We believe those involved had come from the Southampton FC vs Tottenham Hotspur game at St Mary’s Stadium and were leaving the city when the disorder kicked off.”
“We urge anyone who was nearby, caught it on camera, or has dashcam footage to contact us on 101, quoting 44230108876.”
