Bulldog Attack in Manchester Leaves Child Injured
A child was mauled by an off-leash dog in Ancoats, Manchester, on Wednesday, 14 December 2022, around 4pm GMT. The family was heading towards the Rochdale Canal towpath on Danesdale Drive when the vicious attack happened.
Details of the Incident
- The dog, described as a big, heavy-set British Bulldog type with mottled pale tan and white colouring, bit the child’s leg, causing injuries that needed hospital treatment.
- The dog’s owner initially stopped at the scene but soon walked off, still with the dog off its lead, heading towards Rodney Street and Steven Hunt Street.
- The owner is described as a white man, large build, dark-cropped hair, large blue eyes, possibly in his mid-20s, wearing a white top.
- He was walking a second dog — a small black bulldog that appeared to be on its lead.
Police Appeal for Help
Greater Manchester Police want to speak to the dog’s owner or anyone who might know him. They also want to hear from people who may have witnessed the incident or similar attacks in recent weeks.
