Armed Police Nab Gun Gang in Brixton Sting
On Monday, 6 September, Met’s Specialist Crime Command teamed up with armed officers from the Specialist Firearms Unit for a high-stakes raid in Brixton.
The mission? To crack down on the city’s dangerous gun trade.
Gun and Ammo Seized in Dramatic Arrest
At around 5:45pm, armed cops swooped outside a Brixton property and arrested a 43-year-old man for firearm possession.
A thorough search of the home uncovered a revolver and ammunition, pulling yet another deadly weapon from the street.
Five Others in Custody After Police Raid
- Five more occupants aged 16 to 55 were also arrested at the scene.
- All six suspects were taken to a South London police station for questioning.
Detective Inspector Warns: ‘Serious Harm Averted’
“The hard work, dedication and professionalism of my officers and their armed colleagues has resulted in another deadly firearm being removed from criminal circulation,” said Detective Inspector Adam Seton. “I am in no doubt that this weapon would have been used to cause serious harm or death on the streets of London. We will continue to use every tool at our disposal to remove firearms from criminal hands and protect our communities by arresting and prosecuting those intent on perpetrating serious violence.”
