Peaceful Protests Held in Bournemouth and Weymouth Amid COVID Rules
At around 1pm on Saturday 3 April 2021, peaceful protests took place in The Square, Bournemouth, and Weymouth town centre. Dorset Police reported no public order incidents during the events.
Police Work Closely With Organisers to Keep Things Safe
Officers liaised closely with protest organisers ahead of the demonstrations. This was to ensure full compliance with COVID-19 laws and to protect the local communities.
Following recent updates to COVID restrictions, peaceful protests are now allowed — but only if organisers take strict safety precautions. Dorset Police stressed that public safety remains their top priority.

Superintendent Richard Bell said: “I’d like to thank the organisers and participants for sticking to current restrictions. We’re always trying to balance the rights of protestors with those of residents and businesses, while tackling the real threat of virus spread.”
